Catherine Ford is a British actress born in Bloomsbury. After her father's divorce from her family, she was raised up by her mother grandparents, and godparents. In her early years she was suffering from an obsessive compulsive disorder, suffering anxiety related to the word association. Ford was fascinated by acting during her teens, she joined the National Youth Theatre. She got into the Sylvia Young Theatre School. But after just one month, she decided that it wasn't suitable for her. Ford then applied for a spot for the Central School of Speech and Drama and was accepted on her 4th attempt. Shaun Dingwall played Pete Tyler on Doctor Who. Ford was able to graduate in 1993, but she already made a TV appearance in the 1992 episode Surgical Spirit. She adopted the title Catherine Tate. Tate began her TV debut in the year 1991, appearing in shows such as The Bill. Men Behaving Badly. as well as London's Burning. Her regular work in theatre has led to her joining The Royal Shakespeare Company, for the 2000-2001 Season. Tate received recognition as a stand-up comedian that became part of her portfolio in 1996.
