Rihanna is one of the most popular artists in history. When she was at her best she's sold more than 150 million tracks and has sold 41 million CDs around the world. Born in Barbados her family listened to reggae, and she began singing while she was young. She was disturbed by the squabbles in the family, and by constant disputes among her parents. So she began to fall in love with music. While in high school she formed a band that included musicians. They met the music producer Evan Rodgers. He was stunned by her talent. The singer moved from the city of her birth to New York to start a profession as a full-time singer. Rihanna immediately became a hit after her debut album debuted on the shelves. Songs that had a lively foot-tapping beat quickly became a favorite among the youngsters motivating her to venture into films also. A beautiful young woman with a great talent, Rihanna is now regarded as one of the most popular teens and is a style icon. Rihanna is known for the good of others and is actively involved in a variety of organizations.
